Week of Novemmber 7
Friday Marie worked because she got gobs of overtime since the company considered Veteran's day as a holiday. Saturday Bruce and Marie went on a round about out of the way route to Tucson. Bruce and Marie left at 9:30, a half hour after out planned departure time. The made a planned stop at the first casino where Marie lost all her money. On the drive on to Tucson they passed (planned) another casino. However Marie was asleep so Bruce kept going. They stopped for lunch at a pizza place in Casa Grande. They ended up sitting next to a couple from Alaska. After lunch they drove on along back roads that Bruce had planed out using what looked as good roads. They got to a road where Bruce chickened out and they had to backtrack (at least m was asleep) and wander around until they got back on the freeway off towards Tucson until Bruce found a route that would get them back on to their original planned route. They got off the freeway and found out the state had rerouted the roads, but they got back on the planned route with Marie not believing the maps. Then there was more driving on dirt roads navigating to a spot called Painted Rock that Bruce had researched. They got there and it was all desert. No rocks. They had to backtrack again to get back on track. Things (except Marie) were going well until they got to the boonies where they come across a flowing stream. Bruce decided not to walk the stream, and thought the car might get stuck in (maybe) mud, so they turned around and backtracked again. Marie was not happy. They backtracked again to the freeway and finally to Gary and Carol's house. Finally everyone was off to celibate Carol's birthday. They had dinner at Texas Lonestar. Marie (and all) enjoyed it and had a good time. Because the trip down took so long, Bruce and Marie didn't have time to get the cake Marie wanted to pick up, put a candles in it (candles they took with them) and light the candles at the table. After dinner Bruce and Marie were invited by Carol to a birthday party for a woman who was 100 years old and the plan was to have at least 100 guests attend. (The guess was somewhere in the 60-70 range.) There were plenty of eats, good cake. Marie got to talk again to many of the Israel trip members. Bruce and Marie had a good time there also. Bruce and Marie left the party about 9:30 pm when they drove home. Bruce made it to about 40 miles short of Phoenix, where Marie took over. Bruce slept almost to the house. Sunday Marie rested, went shopping and took an exhausted nap. Bruce did not feel well all day. He thinks it was over eating, sugar overdose or dehydration. Bruce watched football and even took a nap during the games. Hell, he didn't even turn the computer on until 6 pm.
Week of October 31
Saturday Bruce went to a neighberhood block party. Marie worked, then after work went shopping with a co-worker. On the way from where they were shopping something hit Marie's friend's windshield shattering it in the lower right corner. Marie and her friend made a big deal out of a small area. the car was towed to Marie's house where the friend waited with Marie until her husband came to drive the car home. Sunday Marie went shopping again with Carol Sanchez, while Bruce worked on getting Phil's internet router up, running and password secured.
Week of October 24
Marie went in for another sleep test. This time it was a two day sleep test starting after work and going until evening the next day. Bruce's knee finally recovered.
